Carlos Slim Helu (who was born January 28, 1940) was a Mexican-born Arab Lebanese businessman. He is the richest person in the world since August 2007, Fortune magazine and the Wall Street Journal. Forbes magazine has always placed the name of Slim was ranked second under the current Bill Gates wealth reached U.S. $ 58 billion. Slim own wealth reportedly includes $ 59 billion holding company owned.
He was known as the number one affecting the telecommunications industry in Mexico and also to almost all Latin America. He is in control of the company Teléfonos de Baja california (Telmex), Telcel and América Móvil. Slim also involves his three sons Carlos Slim Domit, Marco Antonio Slim Domit and Patrick Slim Domit as head of the company. Slim's father, Julian Slim moved to Mexico from Lebanon at the age of 14 years. Julian is married with six children, and Carlos is their youngest child.
Slim name was taken from the middle name of Julian Slim, namely Julian Slim Haddad. Haddad name itself is taken from the mother's middle name of Julian Slim line with a habit of naming in Spanish. Slim is the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México on majoring in engineering and married Soumaya Domit in 1967. He was blessed with 3 children who until now working on his company and was responsible directly to him every day.
Carlos Slim is vice president of Commissioners of the Mexican Stock Exchange and Chairman of the Association of Mexican brokerage firm Brokerage Houses. He is also the first president in its New York Stock Exchange Administration Council which worked in 1996-1998.
